Spring Quarter Week 1

Welcome to the first week of Spring Quarter! The flowers are blooming, and the days are going to be full of sunshine!New shows will be shown at DAC for this quarter! Come to our meetings with other fellow DACians and watch shows together! :)REMINDER: We will be in WELLMAN 126 for both Wednesday and Thursday! Meetings are from 8-10 PM.

DAC Officer Election:

Do you want to be a BIGGER part of DAC and make DAC more fun for the members to have a good time?Many current officers will be graduating, but that doesn't mean DAC will end after 33 years!If you would like to be part of running this club, the deadline for applying for an officer position is April 4th at 11:59 PM!Elected positions will be held on Week 2 and applicants will have a short in-person speech (or voice recording of yourself if you're unable to make it!) on both Wednesday and Thursday of Week 2.Link to more information about the positions: Position DescriptionLink to Elected Positions: Elected ApplicationLink to Non-elected Positions:Non-Elected Application

BeforeDAC: Raising Cane's

BeforeDAC is a time where you can eat and socialize with other DAC members before the meeting. Feel free to join just to talk and hangout with us!

For this week's BeforeDAC, we will be eating at Raising Cane's!We're starting this Spring Quarter strong by representing UC Davis with Raising Cane's! Come watch the movie with other DACians this Saturday!Please meet up at the Regal Davis Holiday Movie Theater at 12:50 PM so we can all make it to the show time and sit together!Hope to see you all there and enjoy the movie! :)

Kouhai, first-years at DAC, are matched with a Senpai, an experienced Davis student from our club, to accompany them throughout the year. This is a great opportunity to make friends in the club and explore Davis! Welcome to DAC!

The Davis Anime Club (DAC) is a social club at UC Davis for UC Davis students and faculty focused on creating a strong community among people who enjoy anime and other elements of Japanese culture.DAC has meetings twice a week where the club watches new anime as they are airing overseas, recent favorites, and modern classics. Check our Fall Quarter anime lineup here.Davis Anime Club meets up in Wellman 126 on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 8-10 PM. All levels of anime knowledge are welcome!Outside of regular meetings, Davis Anime Club hosts many social events, such as karaoke, movie nights, and convention meetups. If you are looking for a place to hang out, socialize, or decompress after class and also happen to like anime, then you've come to the right place!

3rd Annual Cosplay Cafe

Davis Anime Club’s Cosplay Cafe is an annual event that originated during the 2022-2023 spring quarter at UC Davis.DAC’s Cosplay Cafe features a variety of activities throughout a one hour time slot guests can attend, such as playing games with hosts, eating delicious snacks prepared by a food preparation team, and enjoying dances performed by cosplayers and hosts.Location: Akiba HQ - 407 G St suite 1, Davis, CA 95616
Date: Saturday, February 22nd, 12-8PMOur fee for entry is $20 per person, and that includes food, snacks, non alcoholic beverages, dance performances, prize raffles, activities with the cosplayers, a photo area, and a fun otaku cafe experience!Each entry ticket includes 1 food entree, 1 snack, and 1 drink item. It also includes 2 entries into our raffles! Your first raffle entry will go towards our primary raffle for a Black Rock Shooter Figure, and you can choose where your second entry will go towards by putting your second ticket into a jar that reflects your prize of choice for the secondary raffles (i.e, manga sets, regular prize figures, etc).One of the secondary raffles locked in will be a Nezuko Figure. Note that raffle prizes will be announced in the last hour (7:00 PM-8:00 PM), however you do not need to be present at the hour to receive your prize. All winners will be contacted after the event has concluded (using the name and phone number you have written on the raffle ticket).For an additional fee, you can request individual dances from cosplayers ($3) and/or Polaroid Cheki with 1-2 cosplayers that comes with a decorated Postcard with a handwritten message ($5). You can also get additional raffle tickets to go towards any of the prizes in the secondary raffles ($1 each).RSVP here!
